1 YOGURT CURD/RICE

Recipe by my friend Senthil Vadivu....decorated by Athi...who was very particular to put a red chilli to represent it as a nose ( ithu thaan mukkin mel kovamma symbol) was everyone's comment.Just added few slices of banana's just for decoration ( since we were cutting banana's for fruit salad)

Rice - 2 cups
Yogurt - 2 cups
Salt as needed
Mustard seeds - very few
Urad dhal - very few
Channa dhal - 1 tsp
Green or red chillies - 3 slit long or broken
Hing - a pinch
Curry leaves - few
Grapes - a handful chopped
Sour cream - 2 tbsp( tastes really good by adding this)
Raisins - 1 tbsp

Cook rice with 6 cups of water till very soft...mash it lightly and cool completely..later mash it really well.
Heat oil in a small pan/kadai and add mustard seeds, urad dhal, channa dhal, curry leaves, hing and chillies( can also add a piece of crushed ginger)....when they start to splutter up pour it on yogurt..keep it aside...
Mix rice with yogurt very well...also add salt and sour cream...if it is too thick add little buttermilk or water( if the yogurt is too sour)...later add in some chopped grapes and or some lightly fried raisins for additional taste.

I can eat any tasty food, but end of the meal I love to have a spoon of Yogurt rice.
I too add a couple of tsp sour cream. That really gives richness :) your presentation is cute.
