This is a recipe very similar to my potato capsicum fry. But it tasted good with the peas in it and also a special powder prepared by our close friend Siva from Chicago who came down to another friend Senthil vadivu's place.... he volunteered to prepare this dish at Senthil Vadivu's place and gave a list of things that is needed for it...was very particular about green peas...he wanted just dry green peas..soaked and cooked in a microwave till soft...but not very mushy.
Potato - 3 medium( boiled and cut into thick pieces)
Capsicum - 2 chopped into thick pieces
Green Peas - 1/4 cup
Onion - 1 small chopped fine
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Dhaniya powder - 1 tsp
His special powder - 1 tsp
( he pound in some jeera, cinnamon a small piece, 3 cloves,1 aniseed(fennel seeds)).
salt as needed
Mustard seeds - few
Urad dhal - few
Soak peas overnight and cook in a microwave till soft..but not mushy.
Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds, urad dhal ...when it starts to splutter up add onions and fry till light brown...next add chopped capscicum and fry till they are cooked and soft...add boiled and cut potato cubes and cooked green peas and mix well...add salt and all the powders and cook together frying for another 3 - 4 minutes...garnish with chopped cilantro leaves.
