0 MASALA BREAD

Masala bread is a very simple/easy snack that can be done at home. Back home during evenings we used to get this hot and fresh at a nearby bakery. Bread is one dish that we used to have only when mom was sick and could not cook anything, but she somehow will manage to make carrot masala or egg omelette to stuff inside bread for us to eat for breakfasts. After marriage for me it has become like most of the days breakfast is with bread... except weekends :D.

Bread - 2 slice
carrot masala - 1 - 2 tbsp

Toast the breads on a tawa or toaster spraying some oil....remove and cut the edges...spread some carrot masala on one of them and top with the other slice and cut into half...you can also spread the masala in between 2 slices and toast on a sandwich maker.

CARROT PORIYAL/CARROT MASALA
Carrot - 4 or 5
Onion - 1 medium chopped fine
Green chillies - 2 slit long
Chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp
Coconut grated - 2 tbsp
Salt as needed
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad dhal - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves - few

Peel and grate carrots( you can use the thicker holes)...keep aside.
Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds, urad dhal and curry leaves...when they start to splutter up add green chillies and onions .... fry till onions are light brown....next add grated carrot...saute and cook for 8 - 10 minutes till carrots are soft ...add salt and chilli powder...mix well...finally add grated coconut(optional).
