Kara( SPicy/hot) Bonda or Pakoda
A simple snack that can be served in the evening during tea time or also can be had a side dish with rice.
Besan/gram flour - 2 cups
Rice flour - 2 tbsp
Onion - 1 medium chopped fine
Green chillies - 4 chopped fine
Ginger - 1 inch piece(grated or chopped fine-optional)
Curry leaves - few broken into halves
Cilantro - few chopped
Salt as needed
Cooking soda(optional) - a pinch
Oil for deep frying
Can use maida/all purpose flour - 1 cup and wheat flour instead of besan and rice flour.
Take the flour in a bowl, add salt and soda and mix well. next add all the ingredients and mix well. Add some water to make a thick batter or dropping consistency....heat oil in a kadai and drop the batter in small qty and in small batches and deep fry in oil till golden brown and remove.
