0 MINT CHUTNEY TYPE 2

Mint / Pudina Chutney Type 2


Mint leaves - 1 bunch
Green chillies - 5 or 6
Garlic - 3 - 4
Ginger - 1/2 inch piece
Tamarind - a small piece
Urad dhal - 2 tbsp
Channa dhal - 2 tbsp
Coconut - 1/4 cup

Salt as needed 
Oil - 1 - 2 tsp

It is optional to temper 


For tempering:-
Mustard seeds, urad dhal, curry leaves - all few
Oil - 1/2 tsp



In a kadai/frying pan heat oil and add the urad dhal and channa dhal...when they turn light brown add green chillies, garlic, ginger , tamarind and saute for few seconds ... next immediately add mint leaves and fry for 2 - 3 mts until they shrink... just before removing from stove add coconut and mix ... cool and grind in a mixer.
Add salt and temper it with tempering ingredients or serve as it is... Goes well with idli/dosas.
