2 BHEL PURI


Murmura/pori/Mamra/puffed rice - 2 cups
Thin sev/oma podi - 1 cup or can use chevda( mixture)
Flat small puris/papdis - handful
Onion - 1 small chopped fine
Tomato - 2 chopped fine( remove seeds)
Cucumber - chopped ( handful)(optional use)
Raw mango - 2 tbsp ( chopped)(optional use)
Carrot - 1 grated ( optional use)
Cilantro - few leaves chopped
Salt as needed
Oil - 1 tbsp
Tamarind date/bhel chutney - 3 or 4 tbsp
Green chillie chutney - 1 tsp
Chat masala - 1/4 tsp
Roasted peanuts - 2 btsp

Dry roast murmura/mamra/pori in a kadai for 2 - 3 minutes ( can also use microwave and set it for 35- 40 seconds).


Take a mixing bowl and add murmura, thin sev, crushed small puris, roasted peanuts, salt and chat masala...mix well...just before serving add chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, chopped cucumber, chopped raw mango, cilantro, tamarind chutney , green chillie chutney and a tbsp of oil...mix well lightly and serve immediately...a perfect snack for evenings.

I've always wondered the difference between Churmuri and Bhel Puri is. Can you point out what I am missing, pls.?

Churmuri is a street snack in Karnataka, where , the pori is kept in a basket and a hot pot with charcoal is kept on top. Also some roasted peanuts is mixed called as congress kadalekai in Kannada which I have not mentioned in the post.
where as in Bhel puri some chutneys are mixed like green chutney and sweet chutney.
